Our lifestyle has had a direct influence upon our work. We both grew up on the beaches of Southern California and have since spent
thirty-five years traveling extensively and enjoying various tropical landscapes and sea life surroundings.
We have recently created a series of non-functional teapots, jars, and
platters. The varied vessel forms are decorated with colors and surface designs reminiscent of our favorite exotic locales. The process originates with low-fire clay and glazes. The forms are a combination of wheel-thrown, hand-built, and slab construction. Metallic lusters enhance the design or lend an "attitude" to each piece. Some sculptures are embellished with cast clay symbolic object - either hand-carved or collected from our adventures. Each completed clay sculpture is unique unto itself.
We foresee and embrace the continuing evolution of our work...
